Future books & coming attractions

My plans in 2026 involve four books, but there’s always a chance of something a bit more! Keep an eye on my newsletter for the latest info!

Distilling Sunlight

Out February 2026
Sam has a problem. Well, a problem and a project. He’s been a master brewer, keeping his brewery steady since the Great War, even through the death of his wife two years ago. Now, batches at other breweries keep having issues. As tastes for beer change, he’s also looking at whether brewing medicinal beers would both help his fellow veterans and provide another leg to the business. When he goes looking for expert advice, Gemma Smythe-Clive volunteers to help. A skilled alchemist, she comes from a world of power and privilege. Last book in the Mysterious Arts series.

Unknown Depths

Out May 2026
When Thom comes to get help with a problem in the ocean around Orkney, Rowena Edgarton is ready to help. She’s also uniquely equipped for this particular challenge, because of who she is and because of her family. Thom – a selkie and fisherman – is not at all sure what to make of her or how she goes at the world, but he can’t deny that she’s terrifyingly effective when she wants to be. Third book in the Liminal Mysteries series of post-WW2 romances.

Brave Truth

Out in August 2026
Claudio’s life has been shaped by expectations. In 1950, those expectations – and how to meet them – all come to a head as he decides on a new way to face the world. The question is whether everyone around him – especially his mother – can adapt and change. (This is a romance, but I’m not sharing the details of that yet!) Last book in the Liminal Mysteries series of post-WW2, and also the last book I intend to write chronologically in the timeline (I don’t want to go past 1950.) We’ll go back to exploring earlier years from here!

Also in the works:

Hereswith Rowan’s romance with her husband, Galahad, will be coming in November 2026. Don’t worry – Hereswith and Bess are still happily partnered. Second book of a planned three in the Council Mysteries series exploring the Council in the Victorian era.
