Welcome to Albion, the magical community of Great Britain and to my books! Almost all of my books can be read in any order, so dive in with whatever intrigues you!
You’ll find stories bursting with competent, thoughtful, mature adults who want to make the world better. They’re rooted in historical tidbits and delights. (My author notes talk about the relevant bits of history and sources if you’re curious.) My books explore Albion through time and across a range of spaces and types of people – think of it like a mosaic with many different corners and details.
What to expect
Most of my books are cosy historical fantasy romances, focused on two (sometimes more) people coming together to solve a problem and falling in love in the process.
The majority are open-door M/F romances, but I’ve got an increasing number of LGBTQIA+ romances in the mix. If you prefer closed-door romances or books that don’t have a romance, I’ve got a few of those as well.
When & where
My books are currently set between the 1850s and the 1940s, but I’m working on the background research for a series set in the 1480s focused on the creation of Albion as a distinct community (the time of the Pact). Most of them take place in Great Britain – England, Wales, and Scotland, but there are a couple of exceptions.
My 1920s books deal with characters figuring out how to live in the aftermath of the Great War, but the plots are cosier and smaller scale. My Victorian books and those set in the 1940s deal with some larger societal challenges, though the focus is still on the main characters doing what they can to take of the people around them.
Where to start
With very few exceptions (noted in the book description and on the reading order page), start wherever interests you! If there are things you’re looking for or want to avoid, check out the content notes for more details. You can find them on that page, the series pages, and each individual book page.
My books in context page has links to books based on particular kinds of relationship, characters, lived experiences, tropes, and more. Check it out, whether you’re looking for books about academia, a gentle read where nothing very dramatic happens, or a bit of forced proximity. Or if you’d like to find more books about people in a specific family.
You’ll also find book grids at the bottom of every book page with more books that are similar in some way.

I’ve got several options for you (plus my books are available for libraries and in Kobo Plus).
- Outcrossing, my first book, is set in the New Forest of England in 1922. Rufus cannot get anything to go well for him after the Great War, and Ferry is working as a governess to escape an unwanted marriage. When they meet and stumble into plots by smugglers, they have to figure out how to build a future together.
- Ancient Trust is a novella prequel set in 1922 (and overlapping with the events and people of Outcrossing.) Lord Geoffrey Carillon has just returned to England at the death of his older brother. Now lord of the land, he and his trusty valet, Thomas Benton, need to figure out how to fix problems on the landed estate and build a life in England. It introduces a number of characters in other books, including the Edgartons and Giles Lefton.
- Forged in Combat is a novella set in 1882, mostly in India, the romance of Arthur and Melusina, parents of Roland (whose romance is found in Carry On, where they also appear.)
